Terms of service

Effective 2026-07-22

These terms govern every upload, quote and order placed through 3dPrintsToronto. Paying for an order means you accept them. They are written to be read — if anything is unclear, ask us before you order.

1. Who we are

3dPrintsToronto is a 3D-print bureau operated from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at [email protected]. These terms, the refund and reprint policy and the privacy policy together form the agreement between you and us for each order.

2. What the service is

You upload a file you have already sliced (.3mf or .gcode), we quote it instantly from our published price formula, and after payment it enters our workshop queue. We assign it to a printer and start it after checking that machine and clearing its bed. We print the file you send, exactly as you sliced it. We do not edit, repair or re-slice your file, and we do not review your model beyond automated pre-flight checks (printer profile, plate type, material match, size limits).

A multi-plate .3mf is treated as one order (a plate block): every plate is quoted, paid and — before printing starts — canceled together.

3. Quotes, prices and payment

  • Prices are in Canadian dollars. The full price, including any minimum-order top-up, rush charge or shipping fee selected with the order, is shown before you pay. A later shipping upgrade is a separate payment whose current carrier rate and handling fee are shown before that payment. Where sales tax applies, it is shown at checkout.
  • A quote is valid for 24 hours; after that, re-upload for a fresh one.
  • Print-order payment is taken in full through Stripe Checkout before printing starts. A completed pickup order may use a second Stripe Checkout for shipping only; it does not change the original quote or payment. We never see or store your card details.
  • Turnaround estimates (including rush tiers) are estimates unless we confirm a deadline with you by email. Rush charges buy queue priority, not a guaranteed clock time.

4. Your file, your slicing

Pre-sliced intake is the deal at the core of this service: you control the slicing, so you own the slicing outcome. You are responsible for making sure your file is sliced for the printer, plate and material shown on the upload page — supports, orientation, adhesion, wall counts and everything else the slicer controls. Our automated checks catch obvious mismatches; they do not judge whether your print will succeed. What happens when a print fails — and whose failure it is — is set out in the refund and reprint policy.

5. What we will not print

We refuse, cancel and refund (before printing) any job that is or appears to be:

  • a firearm or firearm part — including receivers, frames, magazines, suppressors and conversion devices. Manufacturing or possessing these, and sharing print files for them, is a criminal offence in Canada;
  • any other weapon, or a part whose evident purpose is a weapon;
  • something you do not have the rights to reproduce — counterfeit goods, trademarked or copyrighted designs printed without permission;
  • a part presented as certified for a regulated use (medical, food-contact, structural, aviation) — see section 8;
  • anything illegal to make, own or sell in Ontario.

We may refuse any job for any reason before printing starts; if we do, you get a full refund. Suspected illegal jobs may be reported to police.

6. Your content and intellectual property

  • You keep all rights to the files you upload.
  • You grant us a limited licence to store, process and print your file solely to fulfil your order (including free reprints). We do not share your files or print them for anyone else. Files are deleted on the schedule in the privacy policy.
  • You confirm you have the right to print what you upload. If someone claims your print infringed their rights, that claim is yours to answer: you agree to cover the costs and damages we incur because of it.

7. Reprints, refunds and cancellations

Every print is custom-manufactured from your file, so refunds work differently than for shelf goods. The short version: cancel any time before printing starts for a full refund; once printing starts there are no change-of-mind refunds; if a print fails because of us, we reprint it free — and refund it if the reprint fails too. The full policy, including what counts as our failure versus a slicing failure, is the refund and reprint policy, which is part of these terms.

8. Printed parts are not certified parts

We sell FDM prints of your file, produced with reasonable care and skill. Layer adhesion, dimensional accuracy and strength vary with geometry, material and slicing — most of which you control. Printed parts are not tested or certified for any use, and must not be relied on for safety-critical, load-bearing, medical, food-contact or similar applications. Nothing in this section reduces the quality promise in the refund and reprint policy or any warranty the law implies that cannot be excluded.

9. Pickup, shipping and uncollected prints

  • Pickup is in downtown Toronto. When the whole order is ready, its private fulfillment page shows the address and available Toronto-time appointments. Your pickup is booked only after the page confirms the selected time.
  • You may choose Canada Post shipping with the original order or, for a completed pickup order, pay separately to switch to shipping. The selected service, current parcel rate and handling fee are shown before the relevant payment. A shipping upgrade releases any booked pickup only after Stripe confirms payment. Transit estimates begin after carrier hand-off and are not print-completion promises. Tracking is posted to your job page after we create the label. Risk in the parts passes to you on carrier hand-off, subject to rights that law does not allow us to exclude.
  • We hold finished prints for 30 days after we tell you they are ready. After 30 days uncollected prints may be disposed of and the order is not refundable. If you need longer, email us before the window closes — we are flexible when asked.

10. Accounts and guest orders

  • Your email address is your account: signing in is a one-time code, and there is no password. Every order needs a working email — quote, receipt, ready-for-pickup notice and sign-in all use it.
  • Guest orders get a private status link. Anyone with that link can see the order, so share it carefully. Signing in with the same email later attaches your order history automatically.

11. Our liability

For any order, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect losses (lost profits, lost time, the cost of the deadline your part missed). This cap does not apply where the law does not allow it — nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or limits any right you have under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 that cannot be waived.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the effective date at the top moves when we do. Changes apply to orders placed after the change, never retroactively.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. Disputes belong to the courts of Ontario — though we would much rather you email us first; almost everything is fixable with a conversation.
